[Sport] Looking forward to Le Mans 2013

Later today I’m off to Le Mans for the second year in a row. I’m very excited about it, having had such a great time last year, but I’m slightly apprehensive. Partly that’s because of the logistical issues I’ve already alluded to, but partly it’s because I’m not sure it’ll be able to live up to last year’s event. Not many events can be as good at the second time of asking to be fair though.

In P1 the Toyotas look to be further away from Audi than ever, so I think the overall win could be a foregone conclusion.  P2 will be very exciting again though, with its huge field and close competition. The GT categories also look like they could be fun, with essentially five works teams fighting it out in the Pro class. Aston Martin look like they’ll be hard to beat though with their five car effort!

We’re arriving slightly later in the week this year, just in time for the first practice session. Scrutineering last year was interesting, but I’m not too fussed about missing it to be honest. I’m glad that we’ll be there for the pitlane walkabout though, as that was a really good experience last year.

As we get closer to the race, and I start to see more and more about it online, I’m getting more and more fired up about the whole thing. No doubt it’ll be a lot of fun.
