The Man with No Time

After watching Scotland lose  their first match of the 6 nations yesterday afternoon, I was hopeful that the second sporting event of my day would provide a closer, and more entertaining contest. Superbowl 48 featured the two top seeds, and arguably a classic match up. The Denver Bronco's record setting offensive unit, helmed by one of my favourite quarterbacks to watch, going up against the tough, hard-hitting, take no prisoners defensive force of the Seattle Seahawks, led by the 'Legion of Boom'. It had all the makings of a great game, and was certainly hyped up to the nth degree before the actual game. But was it actually any good? Spoiler alert - no. This should have been a great game. The last entry for my mega sports weekend will be about the conclusion of the NFL season. That’s right, the biggest show in American sport is here. It’s the Superbowl! It’s been two weeks since the Championships games, and those weeks have been full of talking, talking, and more talking. Oh, and there was the Pro Bowl at some point, but that’s not really relevant. Last night the talking stopped, and it was finally time to see which brother came out on top in the Harbowl. I picked the 49ers to win, but was I going to be right?

The final round of the NFL playoffs before the Superbowl is over. After the rollercoaster that was the divisional round there were questions over whether this weekend's games could match the drama. With hindsight they probably didn't, but the two games that we had were still very good to watch. And unlike the divisional rounds, I did actually watch these games!

Round two of the NFL playoffs is in the books. The divisional round is done, and the conference finalists are preparing for the final round before the Superbowl. Who was hot, and who was not? And how did my predictions stack up to reality? A quick disclaimer before I go on - I didn't manage to watch any of the games this weekend, so my analysis is based solely on the highlight packages on the official website.

It's playoff time again! The NFL playoffs have now officially started, and we're already past the first round - wild-card weekend. Lets see who was brilliant, and who was more at the barely functioning end of the scale. I'll go through each game in turn, and finish with a look ahead to the divisional round.
